Zero Energy Home
Hyattsville, MD
Believe it or not, this is a fully new construction project in the heart of Hyattsville, MD. The owner’s previous house was located on this same lot but was lost to a fire a few years ago. We demolished the burnt structure and re-sited the new house on the existing lot.
The aesthetic pays homage to the ornate and stately Victorian era of the late 19th Century, while incorporating technologically advanced materials and building science techniques including Tesla solar shingles, energy-efficient heat pumps, and an exterior shell of structurally insulated panels (SIPS). Due to the efficient building practices and design, the project has achieved ZERH (Zero Energy Ready Home) status.
